Is your pic from Knapp Hill? Is there a prize for the nearest guess?!
I'm waiting for a smiley face crop circle next! |

At least it can double as a vampire deterrent! Personally I love the smell, especially when you drive down the hill from Derry Hill towards Chippenham in the spring and the wild garlic fills your car with its scent - wonderful!

| you sure your not lost? The crop circle is in East Field so you must be on the hill near Adams Grave or on Knap hill. The last one is above the Alton Barnes white horse looking towards Marden. PeteG |

The first picture is indeed Alton Barnes. Taken yesterday afternoon.
The second and last picture were taken today on the way home. I visited my Dads Grave at Marlborough on the way....

| Thanks for playing the game Folks...
After leaving the Cemetery at Marlborough, I turned left and drove to Hackpen Hill and the Ridgeway..
The last two photo's were taken from the little Car park above the White Horse.
When I arrived at the car park, a Lark lifted from the ground and was riding the air currents just to the right and above my car. It was only about twelve foot from me. That's as close as I have been to an airborne Lark. I accidentally scared it of with my fumbling to get a picture.. Mind you, it only moved about 25ft away..

Ah so I wasn't too many miles out then.
I like this game! Again, again!
PS Love your lark pic you lucky thing! I was up on Morgans Hill this week and listened for ages to a bird singing away in the long grass, it may have been a hiding and nesting skylark, but whatever it was it was beautiful! Another one joined in and it was mesmerising. Have you watched the starling flocks wheeling about the sky in Avebury? Very lava lamp like! |

| There are skylarks all the way along my route to Avebury - well, from the clay-pigeon shoot anyway. If you go up Walker's Hill (Adam's Grave) as well as the wild flowers, there's also the weird experience of being higher up than the skylarks! |

| I had a strange experience there while flying along the Wansdyke shooting a film. I looked down to see a helicopter below me and above was a microlight. thats not right PeteG |

| you should try flying with my friend JJ. He's prone to screaming just before the wheels touch the ground on landing and several times while taking off at lower Upper he took the wrong strip and just missed electric cables. People on the ground told me later they had dialed 99 and their finger was hovering above the 9 while we took off. PeteG |

| | I once took a crop circle flight on my birthday, and I was, let's say, rather 'relaxed'. I'd been given a bottle of Tequila and was driven to Thruxton... The pilot pushed me into having a go at driving, as it was my birthday. I did ok, considering - but when I asked him if I could try a landing, the look on my fellow-passengers' faces was priceless! |

| JJ is forever yelling "Take over a minute" while he leans out of the window to take a few photots. Flying down to the Mendips in the mist one early December morning was the most magical experience. We were skimming an endless vista of cloud until we got to the mendips and Priddy henges which were just poking through like an island in the sky. PeteG

| I flew out of Thruxton many times. The most frightening was when we were very low on fuel requesting permission to land and were told to circle and hold until the motorbike race finished. We landed on fumes! PeteG |

| Lovely picture. I used to fly with Steve, from the USA/The Barge Inn - a bloke who took photos with a gigantic SLR camera using roll film - I think it was almost 70mm. He also used to shout 'take over' and open the window to lean out and take pictures. If you're in the back of the plane, just the wind from opening the window can be terrifying! Although I'm cautious rather than nervous, I really enjoy small planes - I thought they'd be scarier. It's rather like being in a motorcycle sidecar. One that flies... |

it is a thrill like no other. My big problem is when driving away from the air field I want the car to hop over a hedge to avoid the traffic! (Must resist turning the wheel....)
